A trip to the farmers market..and do you want to change your diet, but don’t know where to start?
What could be better? I was surrounded by organic fruits and vegetables, yeast and wheat free breads, grass fed meats containing no antibiotics and hormones, and my husband! Which, by the way, you will start seeing more of in the months to come! This scenario wouldn’t have sounded too exciting to me ten years ago. The idea of fun changes when you go from decades of illness to regaining your health. Also, when you learn what a huge role food plays in your recovery, it gets pretty exciting! Ten years ago, not only would I have not been interested in a farmers market (or anything health related for that matter) but I probably wouldn’t have had the energy for it. Now you can see why all the excitement. I have my life back!
This sugar addict never thought she’d be giving “sugar free” a thumbs up!
A change of diet is difficult for anybody, and even harder if you were like me, which was very much off course and all I ever really knew was junk food. I was sick and knew almost nothing about nutrition or how to take care of myself. Like many of you, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. I want you to know that it’s okay to start slow, after all, slow and steady wins the race! I certainly started out at a snails pace. I was addicted to sugar, confused about ingredients, and couldn’t imagine giving up things like bread and soda. So where did I start? Instead of eliminating all the foods I knew fungus needed to live and thrive on, I started by eliminating two big ones. Sugar and yeast. I still ate low sugar fruits like green apples, berries, grapefruit, and lemons but all other sugar was off the table, literally.
Not sure if your illness is rooted in fungus? Have you ever been on antibiotics? Have you been exposed to mold? Do you drink alcohol, or eat a poor diet including large amounts of carbs and sugar? If you said yes to any of these questions you probably have some degree of a systemic fungal infection. The best way to find out is to consume foods that do not feed fungus for at least one month and see if your symptoms start to subside. If so, you may have your answer. Remember, there are strong links between fungus (mold) and diseases like chronic fatigue, chronic sinusitis, psoriasis, fibromyalgia, acid reflux, and even cancer to name a few.
For anyone ready to take the plunge, I suggest making some flatbread and desserts ahead of time to have on hand for those inevitable bread and sugar cravings. Once you tackle that, you may be ready to start replacing other American staples like switching from peanut butter (proven to be universally moldy) to cashew and almond butter. Baby steps! Your health is worth the effort! Keep your stories coming about how you dug yourself out of the SAD diet (standard American diet). I love hearing from all of you! Stay tuned, we will be posting a video on how to check your home for mold, and what to do if you find a problem.

Hello, I gave up yeast and sugar 15 years ago when I developed severe chemical sensitivity. It took me about 3 years to regain my health and only then did I realise I had been ill all my life when I finally found good health. I thank God for people like you, as when I got sick no medical person could help me. I basically healed myself with things that fell in my path, Doug Kaufmann especially. Someone, somewhere, gave me strength. Kind regards. Margaret Hirst
Hi Margaret, I’m sorry I’m just now seeing this, but congrats to you for regaining your health, and yes, Doug Kaufmann is doing fantastic things for many people including myself! Not sure where I’d be without him. Thanks for your comment. Erin
Hello Erin,
I ordered the Oregano oil. Is there a better way to ingest the capsules or use the liquid drop or two in my juice or smoothie?
I’ve been on a health regime for quite some time now and I also am on google researching everything too.
