Chocolate Strawberry Shake Recipe

Written by Erin Porter

If you are looking for a quick breakfast idea, this chocolate strawberry smoothie is a great option!  This recipe is also very kid-friendly and can be a fantastic breakfast for your child when school is back in session.  It’s packed with probiotics and enzymes and is Kaufmann diet friendly (low mold diet.)

This post is not sponsored in anyway, I just enjoy the Garden of Life Protein power.

Making this chocolate strawberry smoothie only requires a few ingredients but it’s packed with nutrition. Read on and I’ll show you how to make it.

What You Will Need to Make Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie

  • 1 single package (or serving scoop) of Garden of Life organic plant protein powder. Flavors come in smooth vanilla, smooth chocolate, smooth energy or almond butter (I used smooth chocolate for this recipe)
  • 6 ounces unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup of frozen or fresh strawberry’s (or berries of your choice)
  • 2 ounces coconut water

What’s Inside the Protein Powder

The Garden of Life protein powder has 30% of our recommended daily protein, its grain and gluten free, AND its packed with probiotics!

Almond milk contains high levels of vitamin E, magnesium, iron and calcium, just to name a few. Berries are an excellent source of vitamin C, (which is an immunity booster) and they also have anti-cancer, antifungal properties.  The added coconut water is a rich source of electrolytes and rich in natural vitamins (especially the B vitamins).  Compare this chocolate strawberry smoothie to a doughnut or a pop tart!  How would you rather feed your child before school?

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in either a Vitamix or any blender you have at your disposal.
