Most Read Posts In 2017….And Some Changes For 2018

Written by Erin Porter

I want to thank all of you for a wonderful year.  Especially for your support, your comments, emails, and for sharing  your personal stories and health struggles with me.  I want to share with you the top 10 most read posts from EPGW in 2017. I’ll also share with you some changes and additions we plan on making in 2018. It’s fun (and always surprising) for me to track which posts you guys liked the best.  Some of my favorites are actually not on the list.  But it doesn’t matter what I liked, it matters what you liked, so here goes.

Well this first one surprised me! I figure this first one landed as number one either do to the fact that it’s on the first page of google (so it’s easy to find) or there are an awful lot of people out there with sinus infections.  It’s probably a little bit of both!

#1 – What Does Baby Shampoo Have to do with a Sinus Infection – Click here to read.

#2 -Blueberry Muffins…And Fathers, The Good, The Bad, And The UglyClick here to read.  This is a piece I asked my sister to help write, not only because she’s a good writer, but because she can always be counted on to make a serious topic humorous.  It turned out to be a very cathartic experience for the both of us.  Again, either people really like blueberry muffins or they could relate to having a “not so perfect” father.  If your father wasn’t perfect like ours, you can read the post then go console yourself with a delicious blueberry muffin.

#3 What Could Diet and Fungi Have to Do With Chronic Fatigue And Fibromyalgia? Click here to read.

This post paints a vivid picture of where I was when I realized something very wrong was happening inside my body.  It makes me so happy this post landed in the top 10 because you never hear doctors talk about the link between systemic fungal infections and Chronic Fatigue/Fibro.  This post should give a lot of people hope because once you find the “cause” you are on the right road.  Exciting stuff!

#4 A Healthier White Queso Dip.  Click here to read. I completely understand why this one made the list.  Yum!

#5 Is Deodorant Really That Bad for You?….And How To Make Your Own In Under 10 Minutes.  Click here to read.  I guess we weren’t the only ones on the hunt for a healthier deodorant!

#6 Guacamole…And Rejection.  Click here to read.

#7 Broccoli Cheese Soup….And Are You A Chicken or an Eagle? Click here to read.  I was going through a REALLY hard time when I wrote this post and it ended up being extremely therapeutic for me.  I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as you did the soup.

#8 Chocolate Banana Pudding…And Do You Suffer From Please Like Me Disease?  Click here to read. I see I am not the only one that struggled with this dreaded disease.

#9 Chronic Sinusitis and My Trip to See Dr. Dennis. Click here to read.  Again, I think there are a lot of people out there with sinus issues!

#10 Crockpot Chili…And a Recipe For Happiness.  Click here to read. Having this blog really made this topic real for me.  Every time you hit a personal milestone you would expect to feel happier, but I realized that’s not the case.  Maybe momentarily but then that milestone is behind you and you realize it’s only the personal relationships you have that really mean anything in this life.  And a special shout out to my sister for helping to edit this piece! And also a thank you to my wonderful mother who ALWAYS finds mistakes and calls me right away with them.  It’s the editor in her I guess and I love her for it!

Changes for 2018

We want to start doing some video.  Not many people have the time to read blogs anymore, and well, that’s just where the direction is going for bloggers and so we are going to make this painful transition next year.  I say painful because neither one of us (Bob and I) like to be on camera so it’ll be an interesting time.

I also want to do more “health” posts.  Posts like what to eat on a daily basis if you are overcoming health issues.  I want to layout the protocol that finally helped eradicate certain bacteria like pseudomonas etc.  Years ago I used to spend SO much time on health forums desperately looking for answers (along with thousands of other people).  And I’m looking forward to sharing my post on the “must do’s” if you find yourself on an antibiotic.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone and see you next year! Love Erin and Bob
